Agent Island is a native status companion for developers running Claude Code and Codex. It watches local coding-agent sessions and shows whether each session is working, waiting for input, or finished, so developers can step away without repeatedly checking terminals. The macOS app runs locally and sends timely, low-noise notifications while keeping project files, source code, and prompts on the machine. Agent Island supports multiple concurrent sessions, compact and expanded status views, usage reporting, and signed in-app updates. It is designed for solo developers and engineering teams who use long-running coding agents and need reliable handoffs between human decisions and agent execution. The project is open source, supports macOS 13 or later, and is available as a universal DMG for Apple silicon and Intel.
