Acres is a local-first visual note-taking app for macOS and Windows. Arrange Markdown cards on an infinite canvas, connect ideas, and organize research with mindmaps, sections, tags and properties. Notes stay in a folder you own.
Built-in AI helps you work with your notes. The desktop app includes a local MCP server for external agents, with reviewable edits and undo history. A CLI is available from a source checkout for developer automation.
Acres offers a 14-day free trial, followed by a $59 one-time early-adopter desktop license. After the trial, notes remain readable and exportable until purchase. Optional Sync and Publish services are available separately.
